About Anchor Merit
Welcome. I’m Lindsay — artist, curator, and the founder of Anchor Merit.
I have been an artist my whole life, and I've always known the power art has to uplift us, calm us, connect us. It's one of the missions of my life to use art as a tool to help you feel, well, better. But it wasn't until my daughter Eva suffered a traumatic brain injury that the call and the need for home became so loud – and important – for me. For us, as a family. I needed home. After hundreds of days in the hospital, trips back and fourth, sleeping in hospital rooms and being away from the comforts of home, home became an even higher value to me. And when rest became hard to attain, I needed to think of ways I could feel restored, even when I was running on fumes.
And so, I set out to find ways that I could experience my home as a place for soul healing. Without lots of rest, or permission, or time even. Anchor Merit was born out of the necessity for me and my family to experience a healing home. And I want this for you, too.
The world is a crazy place, and there is little we can control. But we do have dominion over our spaces, and if we steward them well, they can provide a much-needed respite for us. I have two amazing kids and my home is full of things I didn't plan on... oxygen tanks, ventilators, IV poles, a 3D printer forever on the kitchen island and scattered electronics... but as far as the things I can control, I need those items to inspire and delight me.
I light a candle just for the heck of it, every day. I drink out of a stoneware coffee mug because it makes me happy. I use counter spray, dish soap and hand soap (from Homecourt) that all match, because (a). apparently we can't put them under the sink out of site, and (b). why not make our everyday useful items beautiful and aesthetic? I needed to, actually. With all the medical equipment and things I didn't plan on having around, I need the items that I can control to be ones that make me happy.
And while my own experiences are specific to me, my hunch is that maybe you feel it too. The call to home. The potential overstimulation with things in your space that don't feel in alignment, or intentional. The need for rest. Not sleep, but rest and restoration.
At its heart, Anchor Merit is about solving everyday problems — beautifully.
I want to help you fill that empty space over the sofa with something that feels like you. I want to streamline your surroundings so you’re not overwhelmed by packaging, clutter, or choice fatigue. From artwork to everyday items, everything here is chosen to bring calm, clarity, and beauty into the spaces and routines that matter most. While Lindsay Letters was born out of a desire to help your walls speak what's on your heart,
Anchor Merit is the next chapter.
Not just about your walls, but about your environment.
This is a curated collection of art and objects made to help you feel more at home in your space — and more at ease in your everyday life. Every piece – from a hand-embellished canvas to dish soap that enhances instead of detracts – is chosen with intention. It’s all designed to layer into your routines with warmth, calm, and meaning.
Why “Anchor Merit”?
“Anchor” represents grounding. Home is the anchor. (And also, art anchors a space).
“Merit” is about worth — the kind you feel when your surroundings support and reflect who you are. You have merit. Your home has merit. Lets care for us and our home accordingly.
Together, Anchor Merit is a place where form and function meet soul and story.
